Lithium-ion Battery

    Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are one of the most popular rechargeable batteries for portable electronics because they have many advantages such as high energy density, no memory effect and high voltage.

    We focus on researching high-performance electrodes and environmentally friendly active materials. For high performance electrode Si, Sn and Al are suitable because those have a high specific capacity than graphite. For environmentally friendly electrode, we are trying to develop agarose (a polysaccharide polymer material, generally extracted from seaweed) based carbonized electrode materials.
